Sowing lucerne (alfalfa) seed.

    1. All going well we should get our first cut of hay from this lucerne late November. Lucerne is a perennial plant so it will be cut for hay many times over the life of this stand. It is usually in for 5 years and we hope to get 6-7 cuts per year though only 4 cuts in the first year.

  3. Lucerne is alfalfa? I must study. I think Father grew lucerne once as a nitrogen adding crop for the soil.
