I think it could be placed further north but a property has to come up for sale.
As for prime agricultural land vanishing - the number of market gardens and dairy farms and orchards now covered by suburban development around Melbourne makes me want to weep.
However the government has insisted that population growth equals economic growth. And when developers make offers too good to refuse to landholders development is inevitable.
I'll get down off my soapbox now.
AlphieAlphie Souphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17041492283753978975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237865919006017597.post-54037274810288567192019-03-22T16:17:24.499+11:002019-03-22T16:17:24.499+11:00Thank you all for your answers to my questions.
W...Thank you all for your answers to my questions.

We are not opposed to solar... we have 40 solar panels on our roof. It is passive clean energy. Our concern comes when good agricultural land are being turned into industrial solar farms. We live in an intensive irrigation district filled with dairy farmers, vegetable growers, irrigated croppers, beef farmers and the odd lucerne hay producer (that's us!). Is this the best place to build solar farms when 40kms to our north is the start of large dryland sheep grazing stations with no neighbours for kilometres?CountryMumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14761724941259576940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237865919006017597.post-65322515423592816422019-03-22T09:33:31.156+11:002019-03-22T09:33:31.156+11:00I don't know enough about them to make a decis...I don't know enough about them to make a decision about it, but I'd rather see a regular old farm! happyonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14186179870233267082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237865919006017597.post-57887293565627339912019-03-22T07:49:46.419+11:002019-03-22T07:49:46.419+11:00Seeing this view of it, it looks absolutely incred...Seeing this view of it, it looks absolutely incredible. Choosing where they go is, like the argument in Scotland over wind farms, a matter of considerable debate.Graham Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11196744947133121475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6237865919006017597.post-43357521784772147482019-03-21T23:55:15.475+11:002019-03-21T23:55:15.475+11:00Oh alright.
