The haymaking continues.

  1. Hard work, and long days - though modern equipment makes life a LOT easier. I hope it was a really good crop.

    1. You sum up life on the farm very well - hard work and long days. And yes modern day machinery has made most of the work so much easier, less physical, but unfortunately terms of trade dictate that we have to produce so much more for the same return of 20 or even 10 years ago. But it is a lifestyle we choose and love. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Lovely to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

  2. Do you ever get a day off or a vacation?

    1. Yes we do.... not as much as we should though. Farming is a 7 day a week commitment. We try and take a 2 week holiday each year. Days off aren't regular, but when the opportunity arises we grab it.

  3. So that is what the haybaler looks like for those big bales! Now I know...and I didn't even realize till now that I wondered about that.

  4. I love watching hay being baled. This looks a bit different from how I've seen it done here north of Toronto. I'll have to take photos of it in a few months.
