Silo Art

Last weekend on our way to the mountains we stopped at two recently completed silo art projects in northern Victoria.

Devenish Silo Art

The Devenish silo art depicts two service women 100 years apart - a WWI nurse and a modern-day army medic. Painted by Melbourne artist Cam Scale over 11 days, it was officially opened on Anzac Day last week.

Goorambat Silo Art

These silos are in Goorambat and were painted as part of Benalla’s Wall to Wall Festival by Melbourne based street artist Dvate in March over 17 days. They depict the native Barking Owl and farming life.

The scale of these murals and the detail is quite breathtaking. They are well worth a visit. We look forward to seeing many more of these works of art in tiny rural towns as the Silo Art Trails continue to gain in popularity.

  5. These are just spectacular. It sounds like the artists are amazing, if they can finish such a project in a few days.

  6. Silo art is growing exponentially. Funnily, I made mention of Dvate a couple of weeks ago. http://highriser.blogspot.com.au/2018/04/monday-mural_9.html

  8. I love the one with the nurse. I'm pretty sure I have seen it on Insta, too. It's good to see it get plenty of coverage

  9. We thought we "did" the Silo Art Trail the 6 from Brim through to Patchewollock but on our way back from Echuca came across the fabulous kingfisher and squirrel glider at Rochester and then found there were another 2 at Goorambat and Devenish. So we need another weekend up in these areas! There needs to be publicity about these last 3 as googling the Silo Art Trail does not include these last 3.
