  3. The radio station, NPR, plays daily here at home, informing us of world news. Every day Australia is mentioned and I think of you and yours, the land you love, and the work you've put into it.   5. Eerie and frightening. Last night I saw images of a beach and cove, solid black with ashes. Incomphrehensible!

  7. Having similar smoky and eerie skies here in NZ really brought it home to us how everyone must be suffering over there. I hope you and yours (including the firefighting one) stay safe.
