Top day for topdressing.

  1. It looks a very grey day. Did any moisture fall from the sky? And I love that green. So much. Not a shade we see much of here.

    1. Yes, it is a very nice shade of green - one that we would like to see more of!

  3. Does that top dressing smell? Not sure what the farmers close to us use but the smell is quite strong ! Great shot.

    1. We top-dress our winter crops with urea at this time of year, just before rain (or during rain as was the case yesterday) as it is water soluble, and no, it doesn't smell. However poultry manure, which is what we use as our main fertiliser, does smell.....

  4. It has a sort of misty, chilly feel to it...is it at all chilly?

    1. A top temperature of 16°C yesterday, so not exactly warm! But we will take all the rain, misty weather we can get at the moment. The outlook for our spring is not very good, so any rain is very welcome.

  5. I grew up in a farming area in the UK - I like seeing the differences and similarities between what I see on your blog and what I remember.
