The everyday of our family farm
What do you do in the intervening years? Leave it fallow?
We are about to sow this to lucerne which lasts for 5 years as it is an perennial. After 5 years of lucerne it needs a break so we sow 2 years in a row either oats or wheat. This makes the most of the nutrients built up in the soil by the lucerne over that 5 years. We are now aerating & incorporating the lime & poultry manure ready for it to go back to lucerne.
That's very biblical!
Interesting info, and of course photo. Cheers Diane
Beautiful looking soil. I hope those clouds darken and send rain down.
Nice to see!
