The everyday of our family farm
I love the feeling of motion---- Now I need to look up the purpose of the steam. I imagine it's to soften the hay so it will compress more easily. Or something like that.
Yes something like that. Hay needs dew on it to bale, without dew the hay is very brittle. The steamer adds moisture to the windrow of hay prior to baling. It has revolutionised how and when hay can be made and has taken a lot of the frustration away waiting for that perfect dew to bale.
Or kill bugs and things?
No it just adds moisture to the windrow prior to baling.
Getting it all done.
I haven't seen that innovation around here. Very interesting!
