The stillness of the morning.

  1. Here in Canberra, the morning wasn't as still. Nor nearly as beautiful.

  4. What a contrast to the setting sun. I hope the day passed as peacfully as its beginning.

  5. Still mornings are very rare on Lewis so I enjoy seeing others' such mornings. I've caught up now with the posts I missed. I was trying to recall if I have ever seen two kookaburras together at the same time. I don't think I have. For some reason they are a bird that makes me happy (happier than I usually am, that is).

    1. It's because they laugh!
I do love hearing the kookaburras in the morning. It is said to be a sign of forthcoming rain... that hasn't been the case of late but I love hearing them just the same. We have a couple of breeding pairs that call our farm home.

    1. Thank you Ruth. I have a Sony Alpha58 so nothing real flash but I love it. Also have 3 lens - standard, zoom and a macro... not real expensive ones though. Given that my camera is always by my side whilst out on the farm I didn't want to spend a fortune on my gear in case it got damaged.
